Jerry Edling emphasises the importance of cultural diplomacy in ...

When asked by a member of the ICD personnel to what level he believes cultural diplomacy can play a role in international business, Jerry Elding, Editor in Chief of PD Magazine at the University of Southern California outlined his belief that ?in order to be a good corporate citizen, you must understand how other cultures work.? Himself currently enrolled in a corporate diplomacy training course, Elding elaborated how such development is ?a big leap for the U.S.,? where cultural understanding in business interactions is often unnecessary. He extolled the virtues of learning new languages and working abroad in order to aid personal development and enhance global corporate relationships.
